It was a very warm day for Raccoongaine, temperatures in the 70s with a little light rain. There were very few no-shows, perhaps because of the weather. In general, everything ran smoothly.
There were a total of 67 teams that started, 44 on the 6-hour and 23 on the 3-hour.  There were only a few no-shows.  

Alexis Rzewski designed another challenging course. The highest overall score for the 6-hour was 970 points (out of possible 1500). Nevertheless, comments from the participants were all positive.
Relatively few teams chose to go east around the lake; that was expected.  You can view how many people went to each control at Control Visits - these numbers give an idea of how well the course was designed.  This year, we had every control visited by at least 6 teams; that is a good improvement over last year when several controls were visited by one 1 or 2 teams.  Naturally, the most visited control (whether on the 3-hour or the 6-hour) was 101, although control 109 had just as many 3-hour team visits as 101.  The Mother-Mystery control pairs were (110 and 111), (121 and 112), (109 and 113) and (115 and 114).  The number of visits to these pairs was almost the same, although a few teams did not choose to go to the Mystery control after reaching the Mother control.  And for (115, 114), more teams actually visited the Mystery control than the Mother control.

Two minor notes: One team reported no control box at one of the controls; this turned out to be an oversight; the box was there just behind the control flag. One team was excessively late on the 3-hour courses; they found out just how far it is to actually go around the lake.
