Keystone State Park
Orienteering Event
22 May 2022

Although the forecast called for a high  probability of rain, the rain held off until after the competition; but all of the people picking up controls got wet.  Turnout for the event was very low, 28 people and only 20 starts.  Everyone who came seemed to have a good time.

The nulti-level score course had 24 controls.  It was designed so that fast, experienced orienteers should be able to clear or nearly clear the course in the 2 hours that was allowed.  That was the case with one of the participants and almost the case with another.  The participants that were newomers (or nearly so) also did reasonably well, finding generally 6 to 8 controls.

Thanks to Jerry Agin, Eric Steinbring and Loretta Opila for handling registration/check-in.  Thanks to Sherry Shank for conducting instruction.  Thanks to Christee & John Homan, Alexis Rzewski and Jerry Agin for picking up the controls in the rain.

The next WPOC event will be on September 11 at Blue Spruce Park.
