North Park
Orienteering Training Day
10 April 2022
It was a very cold day for mid-April with snow flurries before the
event started. The weather undoubtedly reduced the number of
people who showed up, with about 1/3 of the preregistered people
choosing not to come. Incidentally, the weather did not stop the
ticks from showing up. There were approximately 30 people for
beginner instruction, 12 for intermediate instruction and 14 who did
one or more of the advanced exercises. Everyone seemed to have a
good time.
Joe Logan designed the beginner course and the advanced exercises. Jim Wolfe designed the intermediate course.
There are no official results, no official starts.
Thanks to Barbara Johnstone, Eric Smith and Laurie Opila for
handling registration/check-in. Thanks to Sherry Shank, Naomi
Jarvis and Giuseppina Mecchia for handling start/finish for the
advanced exercises. Thanks to Joe Logan for conducting both
instruction sessions for beginners. Thanks to Jim Wolfe for
conducting the intermediate instruction. Thanks to Edna Spang,
Jim Trautmann, and Alexis Rzewski for doing control pick-up.
