When the courses were designed a year and a half ago, there were two goals:  1:  For the 3-hour course, it should be more compact so that people could get to more of the controls; and 2:  For the 6-hour course, higher point values were to be given to controls in the northern section to encourage more people to go there.  The courses were indeed designed to meet these goals; however, neither was met.  The reason was the vegetation.  The June vegetation slowed everyone down and made it impossible to correctly place one control (#39) - it was not put out.  For the 6-hour, the vegetation made it impossible to place two controls (#147 and #111) and convinced the organizers that several more distant  controls should also not be placed because they would have been in thick vegetation or otherwise difficult to get to.  The net result for the 6-hour was that five 50-point controls in the northern section were not put out; consequently, the majority  of competitors went for the eastern  controls.

On the 3-hour course, the most controls visited by any team was 12 visited by Maletich and Yinzer66.  However, all controls that were placed were visited by at least one team, except #55.  Control #54 was visited by only a single team; however, I know at least one other team tried to find it.  Control #31 was the most visited - not a surprise as it was very near the start.  Below is a table showing the number of teams visiting each control.

On the 6-hour course, the most controls visited by any team was 27 visited by Todd Pownell and Jerkface.  All controls that were placed were visited by at least two teams.  Controls #110, #129 and #135 were tied with the fewest visits, while #102 had the most visits - again the one closest to the start.  Below is a table showing the number of teams visiting each control.  The number of visits for #115 is misleading as that control was badly misplaced and several teams were given credit for finding it although they were not included in the counts below.  Credit was also given to one team for #136; this also does not appear in the counts.  All controls showing zero visits were not put out.
