Orienteering Meet

Although it threatened rain all day, it did not rain during the event.
There had been plenty of rain the night before; so the woods were
wet and muddy. The threatening weather probably kept some people
away; however, we did have 54 participants and 34 starts.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, although some people
on the Advanced Long course came back scratched up. They
had to deal with a section of the map where the vegetation has grown
considerably since it was last mapped. With the exception of the
Intermediate course, the winning times for the courses were about where
they should be; and there was only one DSQ and one DNF on the Novice
course. Dave Battista did a good job setting the courses, as did
Joe Logan in vetting.
