It started out as a rainy day; and that seemed to be enough to keep people away. This was despite the fact that there was no rain during the event itself; in fact the weather was rather nice. Of course, the forest was still wet. Turnout was very low.
Sherry Shank was a first-time meet director. She did a fine job of designing the courses. Everything went well until it was discovered that one control location did not have a control flag. This was Jim Wolfe's fault, as he drew one control circle around the wrong building. But, Sherry went and moved the control flag to where the map showed it. Only a few of the people on the yellow course were affected; probably Ryan would have even a faster time if the control had been right. Aside from that screw-up and the dense green around #11 on Red, everyone seemed to have a good time.
Thanks to Andy Strat for putting out the control boxes for the Red course. Thanks to Al Sheaffer and Laurie Opila for running registration. Thanks to Andy Strat and Barbara Johnstone for running start/finish. Thanks to Joe Logan for handling instruction. Thanks to Yaki Barak, Jim Trautmann and Sherry Shank for helping with control pick up.
Our next event will be a sprint event at
Bushy Run Battlefield on August 25..

E-punching was used for this course. However, there was an error in how the course was set up in the computer. This caused everyone to get results that indicated they DNFed. I have tried to correct the results here to reflect what actually took place. If you see any mistakes, please let me know.
