It was very warm day, far too hot for October. But, with the temperature near 90o a small group of orienteers managed to make it to the meet, most of them club members. Everyone seemed to find the courses set by meet director Jason Gray to be challenging and well planned. Thanks to Jason, as well as Bill Croyle and Brad Pinter for setting the controls; Bill & Brad were co-directors with Jason. Thanks to Stephanie Martineau, Deborah Beisel, Alexis Rzewski, and Jerry Agin for covering registration and sales. Thanks to Jason and Brad for covering start/finish some of the time and thanks to Dave Torick, Alex Rzewski, Brad and Jason for handling pickup.
Jason wanted to inject a little more challenge
into the score course so he decided to score it differently and start it
differently. Scoring was 10 points each for controls numbered 1-10;
the other controls, numbered 11-20 were worth their control number, i.e.,
11 to 20 points. Starting was done by not giving score participants
their map until two minutes before they started to cut down on study time.
