3. Report on the Achievements of 2014

• Thirteen
orienteering workshops in a wide
variety of locations around Western PA.
• Two
formal presentations and three other

Brady's Run
4. Thank You
• WPOC
thanked the Meet directors, Vetters,
Workshop Presenters, Volunteer Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, and
all
Volunteers for their many hours of service to the club.
• The
Club thanked Naomi Jarvis for her year of
service as Volunteer Coordinator and welcomed Ryan Knecht into that
position for
the 2015 year.
• More
volunteers are encouraged to be Vetters for
meets in 2015.
5. Report on Board Actions in 2014
WPOC Board purchased more e-punch equipment and now has enough to use at Raccoongaine as well as any other meets we choose. In addition, WPOC Board approved repairs on the computer that is used for the e-punch results at meets.
6. Financial Report
A financial report was made for WPOC through November 2014. It shows the club to be financially stable. A complete report for 2014 will be sent to the membership in January after the fiscal year is completed.
7. A discussion of goals for 2015
• The
club discussed the goals for next year to
include approximately ten meets for 2015 with at least one being a
training
event. We will
continue to provide
promotional and educational events for newcomers to orienteering.
• Ideas
for volunteerism included modifying the
shift times by 30 minutes so that might encourage volunteers to run the
event
first and volunteer for second shift.
Also suggested would be to have some way to mark coupons
as turned in so
that they would not be confused with those not yet handed out to those
people
who volunteer to help at meets.
• Another
suggestion is to encourage participants
to fill out waivers in addition to permission for minors at home to
help speed
the registration process at meets.
These
forms will be found at the club website.
There was some discussion about other ways waivers could
be handled to
speed up the registration process.
8. No new business.
Meeting adjourned at 3:20pm.
